I wonder how, I wonder why.....Lemon Tree~

As usual Lemon Tree serves prawn crackers for its guest. For the lunch set of £4.90, there is a starter of 5 choices and then a main course of 8 choices. From the pictures above, the starters are King Prawn Toast at the very top, at the bottom is the vegetarian Samosa and next to it is the Chicken Noodle Soup. For side order are drinks, this one here is the Cranberry and Raspberry juice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The main course at the side here is the Mushroom Chicken with fried rice. There is a mixed up or confusion where Nwaruto ordered Fried Chicken rice. Anyway, Nwaruto was featured in this blog's post a long time ago. For more info about Nwaruto please visit his blog at the link on the right. Anyway back to food, although the mixed up, Nwaruto did not asked for it to be change, maybe he was already hungry? Laparrrrrrrrrrrrrrr kah???

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another choice that you can choose from the main course is the Sweet Chilli Chicken. It can be seen clearly from the picture that it is fried battered chicken with sweet chilli sauce. This meal was order by Wanie with boiled rice instead of fried rice, she must miss the boiled rice or for healty reasons choosing it over the sinfully fried rice ;).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for me, I ordered the Satay Chicken with Fried Rice. Satay chicken does taste like satay but lack the real satay sauce style in Brunei. I guess it lack sweetness and peanut. I miss the satay in Brunei especially at the gerai ones. I did make satay here but its not as oily as the one i was craving for. Oily = Delicious :P, i did post a satay post in this blog last time. Anyway my meal was fulfilling, I dunno bout Nwaruto or Wanie.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the main attraction for the post today :P, its the dessert. Ok, what we have here is a rare honey pot only to be found in homes of "Winnie the Pooh", I mean those minitiarize ones. The dessert here is called the Honey Pot, filled with Vanilla Ice Cream with honey and topped with glazed almonds & nuts. And a whipped cream is put on the top with
Chocolate stick.

I would love to have some more right now, it's nice but for the portion that is small, £3.20 is not really the right price. I would say if it was £2.40 would be a considerable price. Well as they say, if you never try somethings, you will keep on thinking bout it. I guess that person who tries this already wont wonder how it tastes like already now I guess, right? ;P
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, I don't think that Nwaruto and Wanie were full at the end of the day as they ordered Chicken and Chillies fried chicken:P. Food makes everyone happy, do you agree? so it was unofficially declared that today is one of the day of World Take Away Day ( Hari Tapau Sedunia). Hmm waiting for more eating again soon... I guess it will be very soon *wink*

I think thats all for now, I'm gonna head off to bed after having my warm cup of milk. Nites...

Who mis u??? Fresa Jardin Tiramisu~

Let me start off with, what actually is a real coffeeholic? Someone who is addicted or obsess with coffee I guess. So in this post it is about the Strawberry Garden Tiramisu. Tiramisu contains a portion of coffee and Ti-Ra-Mi-su actually means "Pick-me-Up" or "Pull-me-UP" which gives the idea on making this tiramisu. To make a better tiramisu the meaning of it should be fully understood.

It is call Strawberry Garden due to the deco which looks like a garden and with the strawberry at the sides. Since people nowadays are health conscious, the this tiramisu was not made using any sort of eggs involved. It is also suitable for vegetarians ;)

Although the tiramisu is not yet perfect but feedback gives me a rough idea on how to improve and for sure the next version would be better. And is looking forward to twitch some ingredients with secret ingredients which make it stands out from other tiramisu. :)

Trip ~

It's easter holidays and what have I been up to, so far I'm enjoying my easter hols. Its like I've been rejuvenated somehow one way or the other.

So what is this topic of the post call trip. Well recently during my Easter holidays I managed to go on a trip to a wonderful castle and countrypark. While in the bus with the trip organizers talking, reminds me of how I use to follow trips in my school days. Those were just good days having fun as usual at the same time educational. I guess this trip I have is not much of a difference except that this is not a school trip, its a University level trip :P

Here are some pictures I managed to take at the country side and not much of in the castle as pictures were not allowed to be taken inside the castle. It was a bright sunny day so lighting were not a problem for picture taking, however some scenery might be lacking due to the mist that's been there since the time I arrive at 10am til 4pm when I left :(.

Vegetarian Delight~

A few days ago, I was planning to cook something that would be simple and take less time to prepare so that I can enjoy most of the time having my meal.

So with the left over rice still alot, I've come out with this Vegetarian delight. All in this dish, hmm I guess it should be a bowl :), are non-meat, as you can see the fake chicken pieces there are from Quorn Chicken pieces which are made up of egg and flour, celery, the spinach I use here are frozen spinach and lasty potatoes :) yummmm

Overall it took me around 20minutes to prepare and get it done. I just make it into a soup so that explains the bowl and below the vegetables are the left over rice. This way it would make my rice warm. I guess thats all for now for these short post. Will post if there is something nice to pot or not............. :P

Lamb Curry~

It's been a while I had some lamb and some curry. So last night I decided to make a lamb curry with potatoes. And this time I made it much more different then what I had ever made before. With some extra ingredients and now it looks more like a curry than a watery curry. And I have figured out a way to make the potatoes to be less mashed compared to what I did last time. In which I boiled the potato first before putting it into the curry that I cook.

I confess, I'm a Coffeeholic :P~

I confess, i confess, I am indeed a Coffeeholic. But not too serious i guess. Been having too much coffee in the past weeks, sometimes I just feel like that I really need some coffee to start my day. And even on times after lunch I can just imagine myself sipping a cup of latte.

The aromatic coffee smells keep calling me, and even on some days I went to the vending machine in my faculty to get some Coffee. I once tried the DeCaf white coffee, it didn't taste much different. But still the best coffee served are made my expertise in Starbucks, Costa Coffee and not to forget TinderBox. These are coffee places that I always went to. Recently Costa introduce this coffee card, where you can top up that card and use it to collect points and also pay for you coffee. Its just like a prepaid card or you can say Debit card, besides that you can also collect points for every pound spend you would get 5 points. And at the end, you can redeem the points which would be 1 point = 1 pence for any coffee in Costa. I thought that this idea was brilliant, this could be apply if someone did not have enough cash, they could always have the cash in the Costa card. Well Costa was not the only one doing this type of stuffs, later I found out that Starbucks had the same type of idea of the card too, its just that they do not let you accumulate points for the coffee or drinks that you bought.

So what actually is a Coffeeholic? how serious is a Coffeeholic? should I go into a therapy group for coffeeholics? :P Its really cool for the baristas to prepare the coffee and made cool designs on top for deco, I guess they must have really practice alot for it to be successful.

Other stuffs to post in today's blog was that I watch WATCHMEN in the cinemas. It wasn't that great and for me, let me be honest, it was boring although it has an unpredictable storyline. I wouldn't want to give away much since some of you might not have seen this movie, don't let me spoil it, see it to believe it. :)

Lamb wat...?~

Here is a picture of a Lamb dish which has no name. The dish was marinated with the satay ingredients and eventually I decided not to make a satay out of it, as it would be too much. So what I did was make another dish out of it. Just add a few sauces, mushroom and vegetables and we will end yup with a simple yet edible dish :)

February Foodie part 3 continues. I guess this will be the last post for February foodie as we now go into 1st March, such a short month we have for February :)

Satay satay....~

Brunei Darussalam achieved yet another record in the Guinness World Record by grilling up record of 75000 sticks of satay which weighs 1184kg. The length of the satay grill was recorded to be 250m from one end to another.

Its been a while I had any satay since that I've been away from Brunei...so far away from where the precious juicy bits of chicken meat being grilled and with its partner in crime, the peanut sauce in which both of them make the perfect combination to hypnotize my tastebuds to feel so much like in heaven

With this tastebuds to please, I set out to make my own version of satay. And the picture above shows the satay that I've made :) My comment to this self made satay using the OVEN instead of the BBQ grill as I don't have any here, was that its less oily. This because I did not use the BBQ grill and brush it with oil from time to time. But in conclusion I still managed to get the taste of the satay :D and it really taste like real real real satay hehe

Note to self, need to put more sugar and salt as it lacks that taste or maybe my chicken slices were too big. No worries, still got room for improvement. I'm determine that my next satay attempt would be more tastier that this one and hopefully producing its best friend.. the peanut sauce.

I guess this should be Foodie February part 2

Foodie February Part 1~

Hmm seems like the end of this February makes me wanna cook something out of the ordinary. First I got that mee goreng gerai :P and then this is next. It doesn't really look much in this picture.

Actually its a Tanghoon Tom Yam, with fishball, chikuwa, Quorn Chix, Mushroom and not to forget some vegetable. The tom yam paste was bought from See Woo last week. So after cooking, to add up the taste, I squeeze a lil lemon juice on it...*slurppppppppppppppppp* hot, spicy and sour....that's what a real Tom Yam should taste like. And I WANT MOREEEEEEEEEEEE wahahahahhahaahah........

So what's next on my mind, tune in for the next post to find out :P

Mee Goreng Gerai?~

Its weekend, and last night National Day Celebration at Tawa made me so stuffed. Sunday afternoon comes, as I think to myself, I haven't really done some cooking for like weeks already. What I mean by cooking here is, cooking the unusual that I would not cook everyday for dinner :P. Mee Goreng like the gerai style in Brunei cross my mind.

So I set out to find some of the ingredients, I planned to cook this one using less ingredients such that it would be easy and at the same time taste nice. I use chicken Quorn which is meat-free and ofcourse its healthy :). Add slices of chillies, Brussels sprouts and mushroom. The last 2 ingredients that I mentioned was not use in the Brunei style Mee Goreng hehehe. And ta...da... in the end.... I produce something like what I want :)

Don't Worry, Be happy~

Too much stuffs in your head? Feeling like its gonna explode? Too much pressure? Perhaps the best thing to prescribe you is some sleeping pills and get some sleep to forget everything. Now that would be too easy right? And that would not be good.

Well all I can say to my dear friend, you gotta sloooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.... down...... take a deep breath... think it through properly and best of all talk with someone and I am pretty sure that will take the weight off you a lil.

Things in life are complicated, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow and time will come for some things. Just like if you are studying now..you can't be worried about buying a car and worried bout all the money you gonna spend on it right. You gotta have to be finish up your study, get a job and that money to by the car.

Its simple as that...

Every moment, every second~

Have you ever thought of how tomorrow is gonna start and how its going to end up? For sure no body knows how it is. I'm just glad to be alive and breathing now, and I just want to appreciate every moment, every second god gave this life to me :) . So you all should too... don't let such simple thing ruin your day... for sure better things are to come .
